Consultant-Led Diabetes Care

Dr Syed Kashif Hussain Kazmi — MRCPI, FRCP Glasgow, CCT in Diabetes and Endocrinology, IMC 213626, GMC 6117450 — conducts online diabetes consultations personally, with access to the established physical clinic in Naas whenever face-to-face assessment is clinically required.

A clinic letter is sent to your GP after your consultation, the same as after an in-person visit, and both self-referral and GP referral are accepted.

Online Diabetes Questions

Can diabetes be reviewed by video consultation?

Yes. Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes follow-up, HbA1c and glucose result review, and Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) data review are well suited to video or phone consultation with Dr Kazmi.

Can insulin pump and CGM settings be adjusted remotely?

Discussion and guidance on insulin pump and CGM settings can be provided during a video consultation based on data you share in advance or during the call. Device-specific technical setup may require in-person or manufacturer support depending on the device.

Do I need to be an existing patient to book an online diabetes consultation?

No. New patient assessments are seen online where a physical examination is not immediately required. Dr Kazmi will advise if an in-person visit to the Naas clinic is needed at any point.

Can new insulin or medication be started after an online consultation?

Treatment decisions, including medication changes, are made at your consultant's clinical discretion following assessment — the same standard applied to in-person consultations. Some situations may require an in-person review or specific monitoring arrangements before a change is made.

What should I have ready for an online diabetes consultation?

It's helpful to have your recent blood glucose or CGM readings, current medication list, and any recent blood test results (such as HbA1c) available during the call, along with your GP's details.
