What Happens at Your First Appointment?

The first consultation at Naas Cardiology & Endocrinology Clinic is comprehensive. Dr Kalyar takes a detailed clinical history covering your cardiac symptoms, cardiovascular risk factors, current medications, family history, and lifestyle. A full cardiovascular examination is performed.

A 12-lead ECG is performed at the clinic during the consultation. Depending on presenting symptoms, further investigations may be arranged:

• Echocardiogram — ultrasound assessment of cardiac structure, function, valve disease, and ejection fraction
• 24-hour Holter monitor — ambulatory ECG recording to capture paroxysmal arrhythmias or rate variability
• CT coronary angiography (CTCA) — non-invasive coronary imaging for patients with chest pain and intermediate pre-test probability
• Blood tests — BNP or NT-proBNP, troponin, lipid profile, HbA1c, renal function, thyroid function
